Hop Yard Brunch Club

OVERVIEW

Adam, the owner of the Hop Yard Brewing Co, in Forest Row, East Sussex, recently approached me to design a logo for his new venture, Brunch Club. Hop Yard Brewing Co is a bar and music venue in the heart of the village, and since the Covid-19 lockdown and restrictions has been expanding their repertoire. This was an unusual project for me, as Hop Yard already have branding that they are happy with, and the Brunch Club needed to fit alongside that, but also be a stand-alone logo + branding system on it's own.

We wanted to create something that had an American diner feel, but still felt modern and in keeping with the current Hop Yard branding. To create the logo, I keep some of the familiar Hop Yard visual cues, and then made them some diner inspired hand lettering. For this process, I used Procreate for the i-Pad, which is a great app that allows you to hand-draw straight onto screen. I hand lettered the words 'Brunch Club' and then moved the drawing into Adobe Illustrator where I could refine the design and of course turn it into a vector file.
